Euro adoption in Romania

Dumitru Ionut, Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest , Romania

Ionut Dumitru, chairman of the Fiscal Council, is PhD Lecturer at the School of Finance, Insurance, Banking and Stock Exchange – Department of Money and Banking, within the Academy of Economic Studies. Mr. Dumitru, as Chief-Economist at Raiffeisen Bank, leads the Economic Research Department within Raiffeisen Bank and is the president of the Financial Banking Analysts' Association of Romania.

Mr. Dumitru graduated the School of Finance, Insurance, Banking and Stock Exchange, has a master degree in ‘Financial and Monetary Policies and Strategies' within the Doctoral School of Finance and Banking (DOFIN) and obtained his PhD degree in finance at the Academy of Economic Studies. He attended various training courses in macroeconomics and financial markets held by professors from DOFIN partner universities – Reading and ISMA Centre (UK), Erasmus (Netherlands), MIT, Columbia and New York University (US), as well as a several training programs on management and financial markets.

Mr. Dumitru has published more than 30 papers in ISI journals, internationally indexed databases journals as well as in the publications of international and national conferences. He has also authored eight books on macroeconomic policies and bank management. He contributed to 15 research projects - PHARE, PNII-IDEAS, CEEX, CERES, European Institute of Romania, the Romanian Centre for Economic Policy (CEROPE) and CNCSIS. He is quoted in papers published in ISI journals or internationally indexed databases journals and he has been invited to lecture at national and international conferences. Mr. Dumitru is a member of the Romanian Association for the Club of Rome and SOREC - Romanian Society of Economics and the Chairman of the Association of Financial and Banking Analysts of Romania (AAFBR), affiliated to EFFAS (The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies).

A report on emergency management as we look to the future: task characteristics, knowledge sharing and integration, and task performance

Irma Becerra-Fernandez, Florida International University , Miami , Florida , USA

 

 
Dr. Irma Becerra-Fernandez is the Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs and the Founder and Program Co-Chair of the Americas Venture Capital Conference. She's also a Fellow and former Director of the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center , and Professor of Management Information Systems at Florida International University College of Business Administration. She was the MIT Sloan Visiting Scholar with the Center for Information Systems Research in the spring of 2009. Also she's the 2007 Kauffman Entrepreneurship Professor. Her research focuses on knowledge management (KM), KM systems, business intelligence, enterprise systems, disaster management, and IT entrepreneurship. She has studied and advised organizations, in particular NASA, about KM practices. She founded the FIU Knowledge Management Lab ten years ago, and has obtained funding as principal investigator for approximately $2.0 M from the National Science Foundation, NASA (Headquarters, Kennedy, Ames, and Goddard Space Flight Center), and the Air Force Research Lab to develop organizational KM strategies and innovative KM systems. She has published extensively in leading journals and is an author of the books Business Intelligence: Practices, Technologies, & Management (Wiley, 2010), Knowledge Management: Systems and Pro cesses (M.E. Sharpe, 2010), Knowledge Management: Challenges, Solutions, and Technologies (Prentice Hall, 2004) and co-editor of the monograph Knowledge Management: An Evolutionary View of the Field (M.E. Sharpe, 2008 ). She has delivered many invited presentations and keynote speeches at many NASA Centers , the NAVY Research Lab, universities around the world, and many international conferences with both an academic and a practitioner focus. Dr. Becerra-Fernandez was the recipient of the 2004 Outstanding Faculty Torch Award, presented by the FIU Alumni Association, the 2006 FIU Faculty Teaching Award and the 2001 FIU Faculty Research Award. She is currently the Americas Region representative to the Association for Information Systems Executive Council and serves in numerous journal editorial boards. She has served as the faculty director for the Masters in MIS and the director of the MIS Ph.D. Program.

José M. Viedma is a Doctor of Industrial Engineering, a graduate in Economics and Emeritus Professor at the U.P.C., Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. He teaches on the subject of knowledge management, intellectual capital management and Knowledge-based development.He has held top executive positions in computer services and management consultancy firms. Actually he is the president of "Intellectual Capital Management Systems" and a founding partner of "M.A. Fusiones y Adquisiciones".He is an advisory board member of different journals. He is a regular speaker in international conferences and congresses, his current field of research and interest is focused on knowledge and intellectual capital management and he has consulted and developed management frameworks and systems worldwide on those matters. Among them the most relevant methodologies and frameworks are:

  • OICBS Operations Intellectual Capital Benchmarking System.
  • IICBS Innovation Intellectual Capital Benchmarking System.
  • SCBS Social Capital Benchmarking System SCBS.
