Knowledge Management

There is a growing need for understanding and implementing Knowledge Management , that is a new field of research focused on using efficiently all knowledge resources from an organization. As basic forms of knowledge we may consider: tacit knowledge, explicit knowledge, cognitive knowledge, and emotional knowledge. They are building blocks of the organizational intellectual capital.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to: Knowledge creation and transformation at individual level; Knowledge processes at team and organization levels: sharing, diffusion, transfer, storing, retrieving, socialization, combination; Processing cognitive and emotional knowledge in managerial decision making; Integrating human knowledge processing with computer information processing in organizations; Direct managerial experience in overcoming organizational barriers in knowledge dynamics, and enhancing the organizational intellectual capital.

Track Chair: Prof. Dr. Constantin Bratianu, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest

Constantin Bratianu is professor of Strategic Management and Knowledge Management at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania. He is the Head of UNESCO Department for Business Administration, and Director of the Research Center for Intellectual Capital, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest. His main academic and research interests are: knowledge dynamics, knowledge management, intellectual capital, strategic management and university management. He is co-editor of the academic journal Management & Marketing, and co-president of the annual International Conference on Business Excellence, Brasov, Romania.

Relationship Marketing

The discussion about the multitude of market relationships with all stakeholders, has preoccupied all contemporary marketing researchers.

In this mini-track there will be debated several topics such as: research on relationship marketing, SCM, customer relationship management, networking marketing, computational marketing, complaint and reclamantion management, internal marketing, customer data-bases, corporate social responsability, relational capital of the organization, management of relationship marketing through electronic channels, strategies and policies of relationship marketing.

 
 

Track Chair: Prof. Dr. Nicolae Al. Pop, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest

Nicolae Al. Pop is professor at the Marketing Chair at the Academy of Economic Studies , Bucharest Romania and Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, in foreign languages. His fields of interest are marketing, strategic marketing, relationship marketing, international marketing, research of international markets and customer relationship management. He is international expert at FIBAA, member of the ARACIS commission in the field of Economic Sciences I, co-editor of the Journal „Management & Marketing”, author of several studies and articles, member of Marketing Management Association (Chicago) and European Marketing Academy (Bruxelles) and foundation member of the Society for Business Excellence.

Track Chair: Prof. Dr. Nicolae Teodorescu, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest

NicolaeTeodorescu is professor at the Marketing Chair at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest. His main research interest are marketing, marketing research, consumer behavior and relationship marketing. He is author of several speciality books, articles and studies in the field of marketing, consumer behavior and market research. He has a long-time experience in the qualitative marketing research in Romania and abroad. He is member of the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research - ESOMAR (Amsterdam).

Strategic Marketing

It can be said that Strategic Marketing stands out as a superior stage when one approaches the relation between the company/organization and its environment. Taking this into consideration the main objective of this mini-track is to stimulate the integration of three, already inter-connected, fields: education, scientific research and economical practice. It strives to become a forum for scientific debates concerning marketing strategies, in the present Romanian and international economical environment.

This mini-track also aims at supporting young researchers, by publishing their best results, obtained during PhD studies or research grants.

 
 

Track Chair: Prof.Dr. Gabriel Bratucu, Transilvania University of Brasov

Gabriel Bratucu is professor at the Transilvania University of Brasov and Dean of the Faculty for Business Administration. He has graduate the Commerce Faculty at the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest (1989). He obtained his PhD in economy – specialization in Marketing in 1995. He is University professor (2002), PhD supervisor (2005). Author and co-author of 18 books with ISBN, 7 university courses, 56 research contracts and over 200 research articles.

Strategic Management

For a good and rapid development, any company has to have a good strategic management. In this mini-track, there are will be debated several topics regarding strategic management, such as the management of organizations, organizational cultural, analysis of the environment of company, strategies for the development of companies, analysis of competion and competition startegies of the companies, strategies for the consolidation of the position of companies on markets, types of managemenat etc.

 

 

 

Track Chair: Prof. Dr. Bogdan Bacanu, Transilvania University of Brasov

Bogdan Bacanu is professor at the Faculty of Economics, at the Transilvania University, Brasov, Romania. He has graduated the Faculty of Mechanics, specialization Electrotechnics, at the University of Brasov, Romania in 1981and the Faculty of Management at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania in 1991. His Ph.D. thesis was written in the field of management of chaos. His academic and research activity focused on strategic management in industry, tourism and the public sector. The publishing activity materialized in papers, specialty studies and books issued at publishing houses such as Theory, Polirom and Infomarket. He attended training courses in France and Germany.

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is a young economic disciplin, althogh its application in the practice exists for some years in the form of independent economic activities. While the business sciences concentrate on the activities in the company, entrepreneurship concentrates not only on the analysis of the economic activity of the entrepreneur, but also on his behavior. For this reason, entrepreneurship represents a combination of business, sociology and psychology. This mini-track concentrates on several topics regarding the activity of the entrepreneur and entrepreneurship.

 

 
 

Track Chair: Prof.Dr. Adrian Tantau, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest

Adrian Dumitru Tantau is professor for strategic management and entrepreneurhip at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania, Chair for Business Administration - UNESCO. He has Ph.D. titles both in management and electric engeneering. Since 2009, he is the director of the MBA-Programm "Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management" (in German language). He is co-founder of the Society for Business Excellence and starting with 2009 vicepresident of this society. He has worked as a consultant for comapnies and trainer and he has colaborated with Roland Gareis Consulting. He was trainer at the following companies: Petrom OMV, Agrana , DC Leader etc. Since 2009, he is member of the supervisory board of Hidroserv Portile de Fier S.A.

Business Education

Business Education Track  is intended as a forum for academics and practitioners to meet and discuss the diverse realities of business education around the world.

Education systems at global level have been influenced by the necessity to respond to competition challenges from the labor and business markets. Most important, global integration in higher education has been triggered by a recent awareness of the potential of the knowledge society. There is also a strong belief that economic productivity and wealth would increasingly depend on the production and application of new knowledge. This relationship of higher education to the knowledge economy explains the rationale for harmonization of certain aspects of higher education institutions and their coordination moved to supranational levels.

We welcome submissions on various topics, such as: the future of business education; the structure and curricula of current and future business programs; assessing the role and function of the business school; improving management education; problem-based learning and its applications; emotional intelligence in teaching, learning and managing; leadership in education; learner dynamics; critical approaches to business education; student entrepreneurship; gender and cross-cultural issues in business education; e-learning; creativity and innovation; appraising current assessment methods and standards, politics and business education; knowledge transfer in education, business-university relationship, innovative methods in teaching and learning, evaluation and accreditation, teaching methods and styles, Bologna process trade-offs, ethics in higher education, convergence/divergence in education at European level, globalization of studies, research in education, knowledge economy.

Alina Mihaela Dima is associate professor at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, School of Business Administration. She has a PhD. in Economics since 2007 specialization in International Business . The main fields of interest: International Business, Competition Policy, European integration, Higher Education. She has presented various papers at international conferences in Europe and USA.

It includes European and International areas of Economics, Management, Finance and Accounting. Because International Business is a diverse field, articles should address questions utilizing a variety of methods and theoretical perspectives.

Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Bucharest in the field of Modelling, Simulation and Statistic Calculus; Post-graduate studies at the Export Akademie Baden-Württemberg and Institut International d'Administration Publique Paris. Scientific and academic research activity in the fields of Economic Informatics, Quantitative Techniques in Management, Modelling and Simulation of Economic Processes. Member of the International Atlantic Economic Society. Invited at Université Paris XII in the year 2001. Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences between 2000 and 2008.

Track Chair: Prof. Dr. Fabrizio D'Ascenzo

Fabrizio D'Ascenzo is full professor of Production Management and ICT in the Faculty of Economics of Sapienza University of Rome. He is President of the Master Course in Technology, Quality and Certification and Coordinator of the PhD course in Commodity Science. He has been Italian responsible for Sapienza University of two Tempus projects CD-JEP 25165-2004 and ETF-JP-00237-2008. He is Director of the Research and Services Center “ImpreSapiens” of Sapienza University of Rome. He is the Italian responsible of the Master course “Economy of enterprise, Quality and Innovation” conducted in partnership with the University of Economics and Finance (FINEC) of St. Petersburg in Russia. He is author and co-author of more than 100 books and papers published in Italy and abroad.

 

Track Chair: Prof. Dr. Carmen Paunescu

Carmen Paunescu is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Business Administration, Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE). She works at ASE since 1997. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from ASE. She also studied and conducted research in several universities from Italy, Sweden, Belgium. In 2004, Carmen Paunescu was awarded the Fulbright Scholar Award in the U.S. for a full academic year. Presently, she teaches at ASE three courses – Business Quality Management, Negotiation Techniques to undergraduates and Entrepreneurship to graduates. Prof. Paunescu's research interests include organization's maturity assessment, organizational entrepreneurial culture, intrapreneurship, and entrepreneurship education. She is author and co-author of several books or book chapters, as well as many research articles.

Workshop for postdoctoral program

This workshop is organized especially for the researchers from the postdoctoral program “Performance and excellence in postdoctoral research in Romanian economics science domain” organized by the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest, Romania in collaboration with University of Reading, Great Britain, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Alexandru-Ioan Cuza University, Iasi, Romania and West University, Timisoara, Romania.

The topics debated in this workshop will coresponde to the different areas of the postdoctoral program:

Track Chair: Prof. Dr. Nicolae Istudor, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest

Nicolae Istudor is professor and vicerector at the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest, Romania. His main research interest are the logistics of agrifood companies, regional and rural development and commodity exchange of agrifood products. As vicerector of the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest Romania, he coordinates the social activity of the university and the relation with students and student organizations. He is member of the ARACIS evaluation comission and member of several organization in the field of the economics and management of agrifood products. He has published five books as author and coauthor, 4 manuals and several articles in national and international journals and at conferences. For his activity he was awarded with several prices. In 2004 he was awarded the National Order "Faithful Service" as Knight for his activity and contribution to the development of rural development within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

 

Track Chair: Asist. Dr. Corina Pelau, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest

Corina Pelau is university asistant at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest Romania, Chair for Business Administration - UNESCO. Within the Faculty for Business Administration, in foreign languages, she helds courses and seminars of marketing, customer relationship management and organiztional and consumer behavior in German and English language. Her main reseach interests are marketing-controlling, customer relationship management and consumer behavior. Corina Pelau has obtained the Ph.D in the field of marketing in 2008 at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest Romania and has graduated the master program "International Business" at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany in 2006. In 2008 she has received the prize for "Professional Start" from AFER (Association of the Faculties for Economics in Romania). Since october 2010, she is postdoctoral researcher in the program “Performance and excellence in postdoctoral research in Romanian economics science domain”.
